Boston Local Food Resources

Here is a list of links and some information about places to get local foods or good companies to support. I will keep adding to the list as I find more good companies and places to buy local in Boston. If you know of any places/companies let me know!

Produce:
Delivers organic and/or local produce to your door. Great flexibility in what it offers. I get the Dogma box, which is local. You can also add on many ingredients (I frequently get cheese, bread, and beans from them as well)
This is a great site to find out about Farmer’s Market locations and times all over the city.
Flour/Bread:
King Arthur Flour, while more expensive, is from Vermont and makes great flour
Nashoba Brooks bread from Concord, MA is by far the best bread I have ever eaten! It is a great small bread company that distributes to Whole Foods and some other grocery stores.
Dairy:
I have been buying milk out of a glass bottle from Whole Foods from them as well as their heavy cream. The milk is a little on the pricey side, but delicious and cool to have it come in glass bottles.
I buy butter and buttermilk from Kate’s either in the regular grocery store or whole foods. It’s also on the pricey side, but I just try and use less butter.
